FOOD RELIEF PROJECT FOR IDPs

MAIDUGURI, BORNO STATE

July 2024

There are eight (8) Christian Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Maiduguri. Following the various food and education support projects of the Lay Faithful Trust Foundation (LFTF) at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Centre and Shuwari IDP camps in Maiduguri, LFTF moved to another set of IDP camps within the city.

In the current exercise, the Lay Faithful Trust Foundation conducted a food relief project at the following IDP camps in July 2024:

▪️Cherubim and Seraphim Church IDP camp

▪️Celestial Church of Christ IDP camp

▪️Shagari Low-Cost Housing IDP camp

During the exercise, we fed 136 families and gave 37 widows a cash gift of N5,000 each. The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to God and their Christian brethren for helping them. One of the beneficiaries revealed she had cooked her last meal the previous night and was wondering where the next meal would come from.

Due to the skyrocketing cost of food in the country, LFTF distributed two kinds of grain:

• Rice

• Maize

We thank all the brethren who generously donate to support persecuted Christians in Nigeria. God bless you and replenish you abundantly. We also thank our representatives in the Northeast for faithfully conducting the relief project.
