THE DOORS ARE CLOSING

In October 2026, Lay Faithful Trust Foundation conducted a food relief project in Naridon (Kizakoro) village, Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Earlier, the village had been attacked by armed Fulani assailants, who reportedly murdered thirty Christian residents. The victims ranged in age from just three to eighty-five years. Neither the innocence of children nor the vulnerability of the elderly spared them from the violence. Seven other Christians survived with serious, life-threatening injuries, while five houses were burnt down.

In the aftermath of the attack, surviving villagers painstakingly documented the names and ages of those killed, as well as the properties destroyed. Behind every name is a human life lost, a family shattered and a community left to mourn.

But even as we respond to such devastating tragedies, another crisis is unfolding—one that threatens to leave many more vulnerable people beyond the reach of humanitarian assistance.

WHEN THE DOORS BEGIN TO CLOSE

Until recently, Lay Faithful Trust Foundation was able to reach a number of persecuted Christian communities in Kaduna State with relief supplies. Today, that access is steadily shrinking. In several areas, the presence of terrorists has made humanitarian access increasingly difficult or impossible.

Communities in Kargako, Kajuru, Chikun and Kachia Local Government Areas are among those reportedly affected.

According to a report received from a contact in Kaduna State, more than twenty communities in Kajuru LGA, about thirty in Kachia LGA, and dozens in Chikun LGA have been cut off by terrorist activity. Where food and other forms of assistance may be available, insecurity prevents them from reaching the people who need them most.

Imagine being hungry, frightened and displaced, knowing that help may exist somewhere—but that those bringing it cannot reach you.

For families already traumatised by violence, the loss of access to humanitarian assistance compounds their suffering. Food becomes harder to obtain, livelihoods are disrupted, and the hope of rebuilding normal life grows increasingly distant.

A WARNING WE MUST NOT IGNORE

These developments should serve as a serious warning to Christian communities and concerned Nigerians. When insecurity gradually isolates communities, restricts movement and cuts people off from assistance, the consequences can be devastating.

Such deterioration rarely happens overnight. It can unfold gradually, as one community after another becomes harder to reach and families are left increasingly vulnerable.

We must not wait until every door has closed before recognising the scale of the crisis. Christian leaders and humanitarian organisations need to reassess the situation, strengthen their response and explore safe, practical ways of sustaining assistance to affected communities.

The protection of vulnerable citizens, the restoration of security and the freedom of communities to live without fear must remain urgent national priorities.

YOUR SUPPORT KEEPS HOPE ALIVE

Lay Faithful Trust Foundation is deeply grateful to all the brethren who continue to give generously in support of persecuted Christians in Nigeria. Your generosity enables us to reach communities that remain accessible and provide relief to families enduring unimaginable hardship.

But the need is growing, and the window of access is narrowing.

When our brethren suffer, we cannot look away. When the doors are closing, we must do all we can to reach those still within our reach.

Please continue to stand with us in this humanitarian mission. Your support helps provide food and relief to vulnerable families and reminds them that they have not been forgotten.

We pray that the doors to these communities will remain open, that safe access will be restored wherever it has been lost, that the suffering of innocent people will end, and that peace and security will return to our land.

May God bless every donor and replenish your generosity abundantly.

ONE BODY. ONE BURDEN. ONE MILLION CHRISTIANS.
